Hurricane Fay

Ok... so living in California most of my life maybe I was a little spoiled... the fact that we never got the school closed for the day because of an EARTHQUAKE WATCH... :-) I remember living in NY and having snow days but you didn't find out it was going to be a snow day untill you woke up that morning and usually were already waiting for the bus and it was late so you thought you would turn on the news to see whats up.

NOT IN FLORIDA!!

So over the weekend a little tropical storm started brewing in the gulf... EVERYONE FREAKS OUT!! Its not even a hurricane yet people!! so sunday night we heard that Pinellas county decided they were going to close the schools for the first day of school which was 2 whole days away! Then monday morning they took that back and said that pinellas county was going to be open! Yay great!! except they thought the storm was coming right for us... hmmm  ok what ever I think... its still at mot going to be a category 1. we can handle that I say... untill about 5 pm on monday night I see on the news that Pinellas County again decided that they were going to close the schools. Now let me tell you 5 mins before hearing that I was watching the weather channel and they JUST got finished saying that the TROPICAL STORM made land fall much much south of us and probably would miss us all together... THEN they decide to close school? I don't get it!! So then I start thinking to myself i have to work on WED and that is now their first day of school... DAMN..

I wake up this morning to SUNSHINE!!!! YES i said SUNSHINE!!!!! You have no idea how angry that made me... they closed school for SUNSHINE!!!! AHHHHH

SO its now right about when school would be letting out and not a single rain drop has fell from the sky all day long! AND because of all of this I will miss my daughters first days of school! 

I officially HATE Florida....

 

Happy Birthday ALLIE!!

Allison wanted a skateboard for her birthday and she really didnt think that she was going to get one because she knew Mom wasn't going to buy it... and grandma told her she wasnt going to buy it so she counted on it from aimee... Well in Allisons words "Aimee doesnt have a Job" so I think she really didnt think she would get it but she would keep asking. So her birthday was on tuesday and grandma had 3 gifts for her... None which allison thought looked like a skateboard. So she starts to open the 2 small ones first. Both which were small finger boards that she loves!! But neither were the skateboard she SOO wanted... then she opened the last one and she could not believe it... she was really speechless!! It was priceless!!

Then we opened it all and she grabbed it and walked out front like she was really something!! Her second FAV gift was from Auntie Neanie!! Baseball socks!! Who would have known it would be so easy to appease this kid!

Aimee and Allison have always been water bugs but now that they are getting older they love the water more and more, add gymnastics in the mix and you get some crazy acrobatics.

Allison pulls this one off at gymnastics into the foam pit and you should see the parents faces. None of the other kids in the class can do a flip like this. 

Belly FLOPS!! Allie loves them... Aimee on the other hand says they hurt... smart kid.

These kids love the water more than anything else... Today they started swimming in the deep end. Once they both realized they could stay above the water just as well in the deep end as they do in the shallower part of the water they didn't want to leave.

This was probably the part of the trip that I was the most jealous of. San Francisco is one of my FAVORITE places! 

The Fam is Back!!

After a week in Northern California Mark and the girls are back. They of course had a blast and didn't want to leave but of course missed me terribly. Before they left Aimee and I picked out a journal for her to write in while she was gone. She loves to write so I try to encourage her to do so as often as possible.

Their first day there they went to the Jelly Belly factory.

Auntie Tracie and Poppy took the Girls to Boomers in Livermore and they all went Mini Golfing. Allie even got a whole in one!!

Jelly Belly Factory

Aimee and Allison went to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield CA Yesterday. They called me last night and said they had a blast and have a BUNCH of Jelly Beans to bring home!! GREAT!! More pictures when they come back with the Camera. 

First Post!!

OK!! So this is my first post! I'm not sure where to start but I think I'll start with this:

Mark and the Girls left for California last night and after a few bumps along the way they finally made it there. Both girls were great on the plane and Aimee is keeping a journal along the way so she can always remember her trip to Ca! (that was her idea by the way)  

So today is my first day alone, in an empty house... Silence! So this morning I woke up early... Weird I know there were no little voices says "mommy I want breakfast" but still I was up by 8. Then I got a phone call from Allison telling me she missed me but she couldn't believe she was actually at Grandma and Uncles. Today they are on their way to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. While I lie on the couch with my lap top running out of internet to look at. I'm sure I'll get tired of the quiet eventually but today I am just enjoying it!
